London Vegan Festival (Sun 21 Aug 2011)

Just got an invite to the facebook group.

This is a bit early, but as it's out there I thought I'd bung this up while I thought about it!
You can join the FB group & be kept up to date with what's happening.

We'll be having a stall, but too early to say if we're getting a talk or contest (you can always join the facebook page & ask if we can have a contest or talk )

OK we have been asked to do a contest so we are going to go with a dumbbell shoulder press contest. Males will be doing 16Kg & females 8Kg for reps. The main sponsor will be Fitness Superstore, but as usual we'll try to make sure we get prizes for everyone who enters. The male & female doing the maximum reps wins.
For those not sure about what a shoulder press is here is a picture of Alex (vegan kryptonite on the net) at the start of the movement, you just push it overhead from there - you don't have to do it topless unless you want to

The contest is at 2.45 in the main hall.
We have another new sponsor for the contest Good oil hemp protein so go & check them out!

We've also now got a banner (as we were asked for one). I knocked it very quickly, so I hope it's ok!

ANOTHER sponsor we now have Viridain Vitamins onboard. Their range isn't entirely vegan, but our prize will be!
I personally use their High 12 B complex (contains 2 types of B12) & their vitamin D2 pills. They make quality stuff!

..Just finished that post & ANOTHER company confirms sponsoring the contest V-pure make a DHA\EPA pill from algae. Most people know I think everyone into training should take a DHA pill as insurance, so if you're not yet check these one's out!

Here are the prizes from fitness superstore
Pull-up bar with handles (so you can do parallel grip unstable reps which is a nice bonus!)
&
65cm pilates/stability ball

Along with that we have one tub of chocolate & one tub of strawberry hemp protein fom Good Hemp Nutrition

Some DHA/EPA pills from v-pure
& some supplements from viridian vitamins

These will be the prizes shared between the winning male & female, everyone else will be getting a selection of other prizes we'll gather together at the event (thanks mainly to the hard work of our resident Mr Maz who is our prize collector on the day!).
So, it's shaping up to be an big prize event!

We just got a parcel of prizes from viridian. It was a LOT more than we expected! We decided that as there was so much we would let the first place winners pick 2 products each, second place can choose 1 product & third gets the 1 product left. That's for both the males & females. Remember winners will also be getting prizes from good hemp nutrition, fitness superstore & v-pure AND we'll be getting a whole pile of smaller prizes so hopefully everyone will get something nice to take home!

Just found out High street Kensington tube is closed. Alternatives for the London Vegan Festival are:
1) From Victoria : No 52 bus to Kensington Church Street.
2) Underground to Notting Hill Gate (Central Line). No 52 bus to Kensington High Street (via Kensington Church Street)
3) Underground to Earls Court (Piccadilly Line). C1 bus to Kensington High Street.
4/ Walk & get a bit of cardio :-)
So give yourself extra time to get there!
