take several bunches of brocolli with stems attached (usually about 4 works good for a big pot):
-rinse well
-break up florrets into tiny pieces and toss in pot
-dice up stems into thin slices and toss in pot
-put a small amount of water in pot, just enough to cover the bottom so broccoli doesn't burn
-boil for about 20 min with a lid on. taste a piece and see, it should be very soft
-pour the broccoli and left over water in a blender and puree until very smooth (you can add more water if you want a thinner stew)
boil up some split peas (about 2 cups works well with 4 bunches of broccolli)
boil up some potatoes
add the potatoes and split peas to the brocolli puree
Seasonings: salt, pepper, curry, ground chili pepper or siracha sauce.
