The Muscle Milk Car Empty
PostSubject: The Muscle Milk Car   The Muscle Milk Car EmptyWed Aug 11, 2010 6:46 pm

http://www.russianmachineneverbreaks.com/2010/03/27/muscle-milks-mike-green-autograph-signing-in-columbia-md/ Muscle Milk truck is about half way down this page, I tried to get the image here, but just go to the link.

I only found this view but basically, we saw the same truck with a bottle on top melded on as above and the truck all splashed over with commercials for the product.

I went to the gym, a bit of an amazing situation to me at least, I left the gym, today has been as hot as can be, that would not be so bad if it weren't for the fact, this is basically weeks of hot and very humid weather, I am out in the car park and a Muscle Milk Truck or do they call it a Lorry in the UK was out there but the girls had just gotten in and were ready to leave but somehow I was looking at the truck and the two girls came out, they were like doing this for publicity the way sometimes you see attractive young women working for the beer companies but I was amazed, after all, this was just the gym, not a commercial shoot and this cute brunette says "do you want some Muscle Milk", I said yes, I thought muscle milk was mostly soya milk http://www.musclemilkprotein.com/muscle-milk-ingredients/ here are the ingredients for apparently the 'powedered version' and so they had an ice chest and a few other guys there also got one. The other girl was blonde. They also told me they can't really distribute the muscle milk inside the health club but can only give some to the workers because the vending machines have muscle milk in them. Makes you wonder why they'd go in the first place?

I should have engaged the very lovely girls in conversation, it took me by surprise but they seemed very sweet. I'm not always on top of my game with women but one might see them again sometime. Kind of stunned me, has me feeling good. And that's about all to that story.

Lastly though, I will still be cautious towards whey, this is no endorsement of the product.

Do you mean this picture?

Muscle milk is basically from cows. It is whey, & casein with some colostrum & lactoferrin (as well as a decent dose of various sugars).
I don't like lactoferrin (sometimes called lactotransferrin) from non-human animals being ingested by humans - it's an immune response compound & humans are not affected by the same things as cows, also it interacts with DNA & various animals produce this product with different amino acid sequences. It makes you wonder how long term use could affect a person as they are probably animal specific.

I was a bit concerned with the final statement on their ingredients page:

Quote :
Muscle Milk Side Effects: The side effects of muscle milk are minimal as long as the proper dosage instructions of muscle milk protein intake are followed.

So you get unnamed 'minimal' side effects as long as you take recommended dosage!!! I prefer food that gives you no side effects thank you!

I am glad you enjoyed the young ladies though (next time have your plan in place to get a date cheers )

Randy Roach's book also points out how marketing is a ploy and products are 'over-marketed' often. It is interesting that Rheo's protein powder and Muscle Milk both espouse a similar principle.

The MM ingredients link also reads:
Quote :
"Evopro our custom protein, peptide and amino acid matrix designed to closely reflect the nitrogen components and ratios found in human mother's milk..."

So 'Mother's Milk'?

Rheo's Protein powder expounded on this too and of course, Rheo's has been around for decades, at least the '60s and probably before with Irvin Johnson, etc.

http://rheohblair.blogspot.com/2008/11/colostrum-and-migraines-mothers-milk.html Interesting, they have their own blog. Of course, I haven't spent time reading what they have to say, maybe later.

So, now they are in on the business. Brown Rice protein doesn't seem to fill one up as much and I've acquired a taste for it now and importantly is easily digestable. It's reasonably priced too, so since I'm not really a bb, convenience isn't that important to me but what is attractive about protein shakes is how the dairy variety is somewhat widely available to buy. I know people carry around their own powder, whatever it is but I don't think that works out all that greatly in the long run but I may be premature in asserting that.

The 'mother's milk' idea probably does not quite have real science behind it.

As I said, I thought Muscle Milk was soya originally because I have ingested the bottled form but only a handful of times previously. Next time, we will have to see how I act but the MM vehicle itself was a bit to behold.

I've never seen the idea behind making a product with an amino acid similar to mothers milk. A fully formed adult has very different needs to a growing baby, so why would a food ideal for a baby be one an adult would want ingest?
I think Randy's book reflected the fact it was actually a document funded by the Weston Price Foundation(WPF) - Strangely enough the WPF does not actually espouse the views of Weston Price himself, in fact in a letter to his nephews & neices he actually encouraged them to eat a vegetarian diet (check out the WPF & find out their views about being vegetarian). Basically they 'grabbed' his name after his death & created the foundation as a lobbying tool. You can read my thoughts on the book on the blog here

I think all that milk (and milk related stuff) increases one's susceptibility to catching infections. To put it unscientifically, it gunks up the immune system/lymphatic system so that the body doesn't fight colds, etc as well. Anyway, that's been my experience.

Milk products have pretty much been shown to destroy the effectiveness of anti-oxidants which may be one reason they cause increased infection (possibly even increase the risk the cancer as postulated in the China study, but that isn't proven, just implied by the research).
I'll add just a couple of many studies that show dairy is not good for anti-oxidant levels:

& let's not forget the oestrogen & other hormones in their that run riot in the body:

Thanks, that's interesting. I recall vaguely reading long ago that somewhat conversely milk may decrease the absorption of saturated fats. May decrease absorption in general.

...and of course the cows are loaded up on antibiotics so they'll survive the awful conditions they live in (for a short while...) being stuffed full of corn which isn't what they're meant to be eating, their digestive systems full of ulcers, packed overcrowded standing around in filth, etc, and some of those antibiotics may pass into the milk. And other things, growth hormones, etc.
