Had to take off a few days as I've badly bruised my ribs this week - not broken thank goodness, but certainly enough of an injury that training would be counter productive. Hopefully I should be back by Friday or Saturday at the latest?

The very first karate match I entered, the other gentleman brought my attention to a hole in my guard by cracking two of my ribs.
It's a real attention-getter.
Sensi waited until I could breathe again, then asked if I was alright.
I nodded.
"Very well," he said, "continue the match..."

Wow, once in fact, it was Christmas day or around that I was on a Mountain Bike and in the ice and everything, had to brake into the kerb, my chest area pressed up and everything into the handlebars which in fact slightly bent. I thought I had broken ribs but they were only bruised, I tried all kinds of things and then, I tried the hot and icey stuff and it took the pain away IMMEDIATELY. Also, deep breathing was a bit of a hassle but they tell you to make sure you do that.
